Krivoy Rog International Airport leads its history since 1926, when the first flights to Kharkov and Odessa were performed.

Until 1941, intra-union flights were carried out, and during the Second World War, the flight staff participated in hostilities.

In the mid-1950s, the construction of a military airfield began in Dolginsevo (Military Town No. 33). The military transport aviation aircraft of the USSR Air Force and several civil aircraft, which carried out regular flights to Moscow was stationed here. Later, this airfield was used only in emergency situations. Now he, like a military town, are in an abandoned state.

In 1959, flights began to be operated in Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Dnepropetrovsk and Cherkasy.

In 1976, on the outskirts of Krivoy Rog, the airport “Bow” was built with a groundwall. It functioned three years, and after the volume of annual passenger turnover exceeded 6,000 people, the Government of the Soviet Union decided to postpone the Aerogava to a new place.

In 1979, the airport moved to the village of Slosovatol. Here was a large airproof with a capacity of 400 passengers per hour, a complex of aviation services and a runway with an artificial coating. Geography of flights expanded to 20 cities.

In 1986, Krivoy Rog Airport received the status of international. Now on a regular basis, flights abroad are not executed, only charter flights are served.
